HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 5507 RESOLUTION NO. 5507 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH URGING CALTRANS TO CON- STRUCT TRAFFIC SIGNALS ON PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY AT PHILLIPS DRIVE AND MARINER DRIVE WHEREAS, several fatal accidents have occurred during the last two years on Pacific Coast Highway between Seal Beach Boulevard and Anderson Street; and Because of the high volume and speed of traffic, residents in the Surfside area and Huntington Mariner Townhouses have a limited, difficult access to Pacific Coast Highway; and Traffic on Mariner Drive will significantly increase upon completion of a large commercial-professional building, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach that it does strongly urge Caltrans to construct and install traffic signals on Pacific Coast Highway at Phillips Drive and Mariner Drive to reduce the incidence of fatal accidents, and also provide safe access to Pacific Coast Highway for persons in residential areas abutting such highway.
