A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH EXTENDING TIME OF COMPLETION
FOR UNDERGROUNDING IN UNDERGROUND UTILITY
DISTRICT NO. 83-1
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 5276, adopted June 20, 19830
Underground Utility District No. 83-1 was established for the
purpose of removing overhead wires and appurtenant structures
and installing underground facilities to supply electric;
communication and similar services to properties fronting on
either side of Warner Avenue from a point one hundred (100)
feet easterly of its intersection with Gothard Street; and
extending easterly to Beach Boulevard; and
The area designated as Underground Utility District No.
83-1 is more particularly described as:
That portion of sections 23 and 26 of Township 5
South; Range 11 West in the Rancho La Bolsa Chica
and Rancho Las Bolsas in the city of Huntington
Beach; County of Orange; State of California as
shown on a map in Book 51; page 13 of
Miscellaneous Maps in the office of the County
Recorder of said county; described as follows:
Beginning at a point 100 feet easterly of the
centerline of Gothard Street and 150 feet north
measured at right angles from the north line of
said Section 23; being called in this description
the centerline of Warner Avenue; thence easterly
675 feet approximately along a line parallel with
and 150 feet north; measured at right angles;
from the centerline of Warner Avenue to the west
line of Lyndon Street ; thence southerly 40 feet
along the west line of Lyndon Street to a line
parallel with and 110 feet north; measured at
right angles; from the centerline of Warner

Avenue; thence easterly 40 feet along said
parallel line to the east line of Lyndon Street ;
thence northerly 40 feet along the east line of
Lyndon Street to a line parallel with and 150
feet north; measured at right angles from the
centerline of Warner Avenue; thence easterly
along said parallel line 490 feet approximately
to the west line of Nichols Street; thence
northerly 30 feet to a line parallel with and 180
feet north; measured at right angles from the
centerline of Warner Avenue; thence easterly
along said parallel line 1; 020 feet approximately
to the east line of Tract No. 195; as shown on a
map recorded in Book 12; page 38 of Miscellaneous
Maps in the office of the County Recorder of
Orange County; thence northerly 100 feet to a
line parallel with and 280 feet north; measured
at right angles ; from the centerline of Warner
Avenue; thence easterly approximately 965 feet to
a line 30 feet west of the east line of said
Section 23; thence southerly 240 feet along said
line to a line parallel with and 40 feet
northerly measured at right angles , from the
centerline at Warner Avenue; thence westerly 390
feet approximately along said parallel line to
the northerly extension of the east line of Elm
Street; thence southerly 420 feet along said
extension of the east line of Elm Street to a
line parallel with and 380 feet south; measured.
at right angles ; from the centerline of Warner
Avenue; thence westerly 436 feet approximately
along said parallel line to the east line of Ash
Street; thence northerly 184 feet along the east
line of Ash Street to a line parallel with and
190 feet southerly; measured at right angles,-
from the centerline of Warner Avenue; thence
westerly 437 feet approximately along said
parallel line to the east line of Oak Street ;
thence northerly 40 feet along the east line of
Oak Street to a line parallel with and 155 feet
southerly, measured at right angles ; from the
centerline of Warner Avenue; thence westerly 60
feet along said parallel line to the west line of
Oak Street ; thence southerly 35 feet to a line
parallel with and 194 feet southerly; measured at
right angles; from the centerline of Warner
Avenue; thence westerly 1;075 feet approximately
along said parallel line to a line parallel with
and 200 feet easterly; measured at right angles;

from the east line of the Southern Pacific
Railroad right-of-way; thence southerly 250 feet
along said parallel line to a line parallel with
and 436 feet southerly, measured at right angles ,
from the centerline of Warner Avenue; thence
westerly 160 feet along said parallel line;
thence northwesterly along a line 161 feet
approximately to a point on the east line of said
railroad right-of-way distant southerly 280 feet
from the centerline of Warner Avenue; thence
northerly along said east line of the railroad
180 feet approximately to a line parallel with
and 95 feet southerly, measured at right angles,
from the centerline of Warner Avenue; thence
westerly 365 feet approximately along said
parallel line to the west line of Palmdale
Street; thence northerly 35 feet along the
northerly extension of the west line of Palmdale
Street to a line parallel with and 60 feet
southerly, measured at right angles , from the
centerline of Warner Avenue; thence westerly 225
feet approximately to a line parallel with and
100 feet east, measured at right angles from the
centerline of Gothard Street ; thence northerly
along said parallel line 215 feet to the point of
beginning .
and
Resolution No. 5276 fixed the time of completion for such
undergrounding of services as July 1 , 1985; and
Huntington Beach Municipal Code section 17 .64. 220 permits
an extension of time in the event the act of underground cannot
be completed within the time provided,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Huntington Beach that it does hereby extend the time
for undergrounding electric , communication and similar services
in Underground Utility District No. 83-1 as follows:
(a) Underground installation by property owners and
reconnections not later than August 1 , 1986; and
(b) Removal of poles , overhead wires and other associated
overhead structures not later than November 11 1986 by all
utility companies .

RESOLVED FURTHER that the City Clerk, within ten (10) days
of the adoption of this resolution, shall mail a copy hereof to
affected property owners, as such are shown on the last equal-
ized assessment roll , and to the affected utilities.-
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 3rd
day of June . _ 1985 .

that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative
vote of more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 3rd day
