A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH SUPPORTING STUDIES BY THE STATE
WATER QUALITY CONTROL BOARD OF THE HUNTINGTON
HARBOUR AREA
WHEREAS, according to Orange County testing records, the
toxicity and pollution levels in the waters of Huntington
Harbour have been steadily rising over a period of years; and
The state Water Quality Control Board, Santa Ana Region,
has become concerned over the possible threat to public health,
fish, and wildlife; and
As a means to determine the levels, nature, and sources of
this pollution, the state Water Quality Control Board has in-
corporated funds in its 1986 budget to conduct a comprehensive
study of this problem; and
This study can be beneficial to Huntington Beach residents
and visitors using these waters for recreation purposes as well
as improving the habitat for fish and wildlife;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Huntington Beach does support and urge budget adoption
and approval for the aforesaid pollution studies by the state
Water Quality Control Board and does hereby indicate the city' s
on-going interest and concern for the quality of water in all
areas within the city of Huntington Beach. The City Clerk is
directed to send a copy to the State Water Quality Control
Board.

day of June 1985.

that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative
vote of more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 3rd day
