Given the actual 10% cut and if all of the proposed cuts become reality and the Gramm-Rudman cuts take effect, the City of Huntington Beach may lose as much as $460,000 in CDBG reductions over the next year; and The CDBG program faces termination on October 1, 1986 if not reauthorized by the United States Congress. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Huntington Beach strongly opposes any additional reductions in the Community Development Block Grant Program in 1986. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to United States Senators Alan Cranston and Pete Wilson and Congressmen Daniel Lungren and Robert Badham urging them to support the extension of the program after 1986 at sufficient funding levels. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 16thday of June 1986.
