A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH APPROVING SALARY
AND BENEFITS FOR POSITION OF ELECTED
CITY ATTORNEY
WHEREAS, the city Charter provides that reasonable
compensation, both salary and fringe benefits, shall be
established for certain elected positions of the city; and
The City Council finds an adjustment in compensation for City
Attorney is merited, after comparison with compensation received
by City Attorneys and other city officials in this city and in
cities of lesser size, where similar duties are performed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Huntington Beach as follows:
SECTION 1 . That the annual budget for fiscal year 1986-87
shall reflect an increase in salary for the position of City
Attorney.
SECTION 2. The salary for the elected position of City
Attorney shall be increased ten ranges on July 1, 1986 and an
additional three ranges on December 27, 1986 and fringe benefits
shall be identical to the benefits awarded to non-represented
employees including appointed department heads .
SECTION 3 . That the salary and benefits, as established by
the City Council hereby, shall remain in effect until changed by
succeeding resolution.
SECTION 4 . That all resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 21st day
of July, 1986.

Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-officio Clerk of the
City Council of said City, do hereby certify that the whole number of
members of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach is seven;
that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative
vote of more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 21st day
of July 19 86 by the following vote:
