OF THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AND THE HUNTINGTON BEACH MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES ' ASSOCIATION WHEREAS, the designated representatives of the City of Huntington Beach and the Huntington Beach Municipal Employees ' Association (MEA) have met and conferred in good faith with respect to the subject of this Amendment; NOW THEREFORE, this Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding is made, to become effective the 19th day of October, 1987 and it is agreed that said Memorandum of Understanding, Article 6 .F . be amended to read as follows: F . The following are paid holidays: 1 . New Year 's Day 2 . Washington's Birthday (third Monday in February) 3 . Memorial Day ( last Monday in May) 4 . Independence Day (July 4 ) 5 . Labor Day (first Monday in September ) 6 . Veteran ' s Day (November 9, 1987 ) 7 . Thanksgiving Day (fourth Thursday in November ) 8 . The Friday after Thanksgiving 9 . Christmas Day (December 25 ) 10 . Martin Luther King, Jr . , (third Monday in January) 11 . Any day declared by the President of the United States to be a national holiday or by the Governor of the State of California to be a state holiday and adopted as an employee holiday by the City Council of Huntington Beach. All other terms and conditions not specifically amended herein shall remain the same.
