HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 5964 RESOLUTION N0. 5964..- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM THE IMPROVEMENTS OF HEIL AVENUE WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach desires to improve Heil Avenue between Goldenwest Street and Silver Lane; and Heil Avenue is an important artery in the County of Orange and of general County interest, and Article 2 and Article 3 , Chapter 9 Division 2 of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement, construction, or repair of a street within a City, and The Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action, provide in the County Road budget for the Fiscal Year 1989/90 a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway Financing Program. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Huntington Beach hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to said City from County Funds the amount of $160 ,000, said amount to be matched, by funds from said City, to be used to aid said City in the improvement of Heil Avenue between Goldenwest Street and Silver Lane, said improvements to be in accordance with the attacched project statement; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said improvements on Heil Avenue, in the manner provided, is in the general County interest . - 1 - 5964 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution, the City of Huntington Beach agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highway Financing program; and further agrees that its share of the costs of improvements and rights of way will be available for the fiscal year 1989/90 . PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 19th day of December , 1988 .
