A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTINGTON BEACH OF INTENTION TO VACATE
PORTIONS OF SEVENTEENTH STREET, MANSION
AVENUE, PINE STREET, AND THE ALLEYS IN
BLOCKS 1901 AND 1902 LOCATED IN TRACT NO. 12
The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does hereby
resolve as follows:
SECTION 1 . A public meeting was held before the City
Council on November 7, 1988, at which time it was determined,
pursuant to Government Code Section 65402, that the proposed
vacation of portions of Seventeenth Street, Mansion Avenue, Pine
Street, and the alleys in Blocks 1901 and 1902 of Tract No. 12
conformed to the city 's general plan.
SECTION 2 . Pursuant to Division 9, Part 3, Chapter 2 of
the California Streets and Highways Code (sections 8320 et
seq. ) , the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach hereby
declares its intention to vacate portions of Seventeenth
Street, Mansion Avenue, Pine Street, and the alleys in Blocks
1901 and 1902 of Tract No. 12 more particularly described as
follows:
PARCEL 1: Portion of Seventeenth Street and Mansion Avenue
That portion of Seventeenth Street in Tract No . 12 in the
City of Huntington Beach, County of Orange, State of
California, as shown on the map recorded in Book 9, Page 13
of Miscellaneous Maps in the office of the County Recorder
of said County and a portion of the land described in the
deeds to the City of Huntington Beach dated September 23,
1916 in Book 294, Page 390 of Deeds and dated July 21, 1950
in Book 2045, Page 79 both of Official Records in the office
of the County Recorder of said County, described as follows :
Beginning at the most easterly corner of Lot 3 Block 2001 as
shown on said map; thence North 4101910011 East, 54 .43 feet

along the northeast prolongation of the southeast line of
said Lot 3 to an intersection with the southwesterly line of
Yorktown Avenue (formerly Mansion Avenue) as shown on the
precise plan of alignment for Yorktown Avenue on file in the
office of the City Engineer, said intersection being a point
on a curve, concave northeasterly having a radius of 850 .00
feet, a radial line to said point bears South 27011159"
West; thence southeasterly 81 .26 feet along said curve and
said southwesterly line through a central angle of
5028 ' 39" to the beginning of a reverse curve concave
southwesterly having a radius of 32 .00 feet; thence
southeasterly 38 .13 feet along said curve through a central
angle of 68016140" to the northerly prolongation of the
westerly line of Lake Street, 90 .00 feet in width, as shown
on said map; thence South 84 .93 feet along said prolongation
to the southerly line of Seventeenth Street as shown on said
map; thence West 131 .25 feet along said southerly line to
the southeasterly line of said Seventeenth Street; thence
South 41019100" West 1, 116 .60 feet along said
southeasterly line to the northerly line of Utica Avenue,
60 .00 feet wide; thence West 93 .20 feet along said northerly
line of Utica Avenue to the northwesterly line of
Seventeenth Street as shown on said map; thence North
41019 '00" East 1 .259 .50 feet more or less along the
northwest line of said Seventeenth Street to the point of
beginning.
PARCEL 2 : Portion of Seventeenth Street
That portion of Seventeenth Street of Tract No. 12 in the
City of Huntington Beach, County of Orange, State of
California as shown on the map recorded in Book 9, Page 13
of Miscellaneous Maps, records of said County described as
follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the northerly line of Block
1900 and the westerly line of the Southern Pacific Railway
Company's rightofway as shown on said map; thence North
89059148" West 132 .21 feet to a line parallel with and
easterly 45 .00 feet from the centerline of Lake Street as
shown on said map; thence North 00000121" East 39 .33 feet
along said easterly line to the beginning of a tangent curve
concave southeasterly and having a radius of 32 .00 feet;
thence northeasterly 56 .56 feet along said curve through a
central angle of 101016130" to the beginning of a reverse
curve concave northerly and having a radius of 850 .00 feet,
a radial line to said point bears South 11016 '51" West,
said curve being the southerly line of new Yorktown Avenue;
thence easterly 94 .93 feet along said southerly line through
a central angle of 6023157" to said first mentioned
westerly line, a radial line to said point bears South
4052154" West; thence South 0000124" East 57 .37 feet
along said westerly line to the point of beginning.

PARCEL 3 : Portion of Pine Street
That portion of Pine Street in Tract No. 12 in the City of
Huntington Beach, County of Orange, State of California, as
shown on the map recorded in Book 9, Page 13 of
Miscellaneous Maps in the office of the County Recorder of
said County described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the northerly line of Utica
Street, 60 .00 feet in width, and the westerly line of Pine
Street, 60 .00 feet in width, as shown on said map; thence
North 601 .46 feet along said westerly line to the southerly
line of Union Avenue; thence West 29 .64 feet along said
southerly line to the southeasterly line of Seventeenth
Street as shown on said map; thence North 41019100/1 East
135 .78 feet along said southeasterly line to the easterly
line of said Pine Street; thence South 703 .44 feet to the
northerly line of Utica Street as shown on said map; thence
West 60 .00 feet along said northerly line to the point of
beginning.
PARCEL 4 : Block 1901 Alley
That portion of Lots 1 through 14 inclusive, Block 1901 of
Tract No. 12 in the City of Huntington Beach, County of
Orange, State of California, as shown on the map recorded in
Book 9, Page 13 of Miscellaneous Maps in the office of the
County Recorder of said County, described as follows:
Being the westerly 7 .50 feet of said Lots 1, 3 , 5 , 7, 9, 11 ,
13 and the easterly 7 .50 feet of said Lots 2, 4, 6 , 8, 10 ,
12 and 14 .
PARCEL 5 : Block 1902 Alley
That portion of Block 1902 , of Tract No. 12 , in the City of
Huntington Beach, County of Orange, State of California, as
shown on the map recorded in Book 9, Page 13 of
Miscellaneous Maps in the office of the County Recorder of
said County described as follows:
Beginning at the most northerly corner of Lot 1, Block 1902 ,
of said map; thence South 410 19100" West 462 .54 feet
along the southeasterly line of an alley, 15 .00 feet in
width, as shown on said Tract Map, to the northerly line of
Utica Street, 60 .00 feet in width, as shown on said Tract
Map; thence West 19 .97 feet along said northerly line to the
northwesterly line of said alley; thence North 410 19100"
East 492 .79 feet along said northwesterly line to the
westerly line of Pine Street, 60 .00 feet in width, as shown
on said Tract Map; thence South 22 .72 feet along said
westerly line to the point of beginning.
The City of Huntington Beach further vacates the right to
use all street, alleys and avenues dedicated to public use

for water mains, pipelines and incidental purposes as
conveyed to Huntington Beach Water Company, a corporation,
by instrument recorded January 30 , 1923 in Book 451, page
325 of Deeds .
SECTION 3 . The City Clerk is directed to maintain on
file in the office of the City Clerk maps or plans showing the
particulars of the proposed vacation described above, and
reference is hereby made to said maps or plans for said
particulars as to said proposed vacation.
SECTION 4 . The City Council does hereby fix MsgnupP.J 117 ,
19'SC? , at the hour of 7 :00 p.m. , or as soon thereafter as the
matter may be heard in Council Chambers in the Civic Center, as
the time and place for hearing all persons interested in or
objecting to the proposed vacation, which time is not less than
fifteen (15 ) days from the passage of this resolution.
SECTION 5 . The City Clerk is directed to cause a copy of
this resolution to be published in a newspaper , printed and
published in the county and circulated in Huntington Beach for
at least two successive weeks prior to the time set herein for
the public hearing.
SECTION 6 . The Director of Public Works is directed to
post, or cause to be posted, notices of vacation conspicuously
along that portion of Seventeenth Street, Mansion Avenue, Pine
Street , and the alleys in Block 1901 and 1902 at Tract No. 12
proposed to be vacated at least two weeks before the date of the
hearing. The notices shall be posted not more than 300 feet
apart, but at least three notices shall be posted. The notices
shall state the day, hour , and place of hearing and shall refer
to the adoption of this resolution of intention, and shall
describe those portions of Seventeenth Street, Mansion Avenue,

Pine Street, and the alleys in Block 1901 and 1902 at Tract No .
12 proposed to be vacated, or shall include a map or plan
showing the location of the proposed vacation .

Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on
the 19th day of December , 19 88 .
