A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH ESTABLISHING COMPENSATION
FOR NON-PERMANENT EMPLOYEES
WHEREAS, the city employs persons in positions which are not
in the competitive service and desires to maintain a
compensation schedule for such positions; and
Persons employed in such positions have not had a salary
adjustment since April 1988; and
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach resolves as follows :
1. "Non-permanent employees" shall be defined as follows :
NON-PERMANENT EMPLOYEE. A position not in the
competitve service in which a person is employed

i part time and/or on an irregular basis, including

seasonal, limited term, on-call, emergency,
intermittent, and substitute employees . Such
employees are excluded from PERS membership.
2 . The city hereby establishes a five percent salary
increase effective March 11, 1989, which is incorporated into
the salary schedules for non-permanent employees marked Exhibits
"A" and "B, " attached hereto and incorporated by reference
herein.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of

Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on
the 20th day of March 1989 .
