A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH AUTHORIZING DESTRUCTION OF
RECORDS IN THE OFFICE OF HOUSING & REDEVELOPMENT
WHEREAS, Government Code §34090, et seq., provides that certain public records
may be destroyed with the consent of the City Attorney and concurrence of the City
Council; and
The office of Housing and Redevelopment desires to reduce the files kept for the
Community Development Block Grant Program-, and
Such files do not:
(a) Contain information affecting the title to real property of liens
thereon.
(b) Constitute court records.
(c) Require retention under any statute.
(d) Contain information less than two years old.
(e) Constitute minutes, ordinances or resolutions of the City Council or
any city board or commission.
FURTHER, Federal regulations 24 CFR 58.11, §570.510, provide that certain
federal public records may be destroyed with the consent of the city council and the
above referenced files are not:
(a) Records that are the subject of audit findings.
(b) Records for non-expendable property.
(c) Records for any displaced persons.
(d) Records pertaining to real property acquisition.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach that the office of Housing and Redevelopment is authorized to destroy
the above-referenced files presently in the City Clerk's vault for the period

from January, 1984 to and including December 31, 1985.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at
a regular meeting thereof held on the 5thday oNJu1ya989.

1, CONNIE BROCKWAY, the duly elected, qualified City Clerk of the City of
Huntington Beach, and ex-officlo Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby certify
that the whole number of members of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach is
seven; that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of
more than a majority of all the members of said City Council at a regular meeting thereof
held on the 51b day oQLLy,1989, by the following vote:
