HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 6108 RESOLUTION NO. 6108 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH APPROVING AND IMPLEMENTING AN AMENDMENT TO THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE HUNTINGTON BEACH MANAGEMENT EMPLOYEES' ORGANIZATION FOR 1988-1990 The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does hereby resolve as follows: The amendment to the July 1, 1988, Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Huntington Beach and the Huntington Beach Management Employees ' Organization, a copy of which amendment is attached hereto and by reference made a part hereof, is hereby adopted and ordered implemented in accordance with the terms and conditions thereof, and the City Administrator is authorized to execute such Agreement. APPROVED 9 AS TO FORM: City ClerV City A torney �_1 1-90 f REV a ND ?"""V I APPROVED: City Administrator Deputy \t-htli Administ a r AMENDMENT TO MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH j (HEREINAFTER CALLED "CITY") AND THE HUNTINGTON BEACH MANAGEMENT EMPLOYEES' ORGANIZATION (HEREINAFTER CALLED "ASSOCIATION") The representatives of the City and the Association have met and conferred on the issues of medical and dental insurance and hereby agree to the following changes to the MOU between the City and Association dated July 1, 1988. Article V.B. The CITY will assume payment, subject to the limitations set forth in Article V.C. (below), for dependent health and dental insurance effective the first of the month following the month during which the employee completes one (1) year of full time continuous service with the CITY. For purposes of determining continuous service, there shall be no accrual of hours for the period of time an employee is on a non—pay status for a complete pay period. i Article V.C. The CITY'S obligation to pay for health insurance premiums shall be limited to Four Hundred and Fifty Nine Dollars ($459) per month for full family coverage for eligible employees for the duration of this MOU. The employee shall pay for any premium in excess of Four Hundred and Fifty Nine Dollars ($459)per month. Article V.D. The CITY'S indemnity Employee Health Plan shall include the following provisions: Article V.D.3. Effective January 1, 1990, the Employee Health Plan deductible shall be One Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($150) per person; and the maximum deductible per family shall be Four Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($450) per family during any period of benefit entitlement as described in the CITY'S Employee Health Plan. 6108 Article V.D.3.a.(new) Effective January 1, 1990, covered hospitalization costs shall be included under the covered costs subject to the plan deductible. Article V.D.S. Effective January 1, 1990, the maximum out-of-pocket expense for covered expenses shall be $750 per person per year after the deductible has been met. Article V.F. Effective January 1, 1990, the CITY shall provide an indemnity dental insurance plan comparable to Delta Dental Plan 4729 and a prepaid dental insurance plan comparable to the Delta Care Plan 0039. Said Plan to cover the employee and his or her dependents with total cost of the plan to be paid by the CITY. Effective January 1, 1990, the orthodontia benefit under the indemnity dental plan, Group No. 4729, shall be modified to include adult members.
