HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 6123 RESOLUTION NO. 6123 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ENDORSING THE CALIFORNIA WILDLIFE PROTECTION ACT OF 1990 WHEREAS, the California Wildlife Protection Act (the "Act") would provide local agencies $2 million for 50 percent matching grants for the creation, enhancement and management of, urban trails, nature interpretation programs and other programs which bring urban residents into park and wildlife areas, and for acquisition of habitat and wildlife corridors; and The Act would provide $1 million for acquisition of lands in and adjacent to state park systems; and The Act would provide $30 million per year for thirty years towards habitat acquisition for rare and endangered species, mountain lions, deer and native oak; and The Act would utilize whenever possible the services of the California Conservatiox Corps and _local community conservation corps, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach hereby endorses the California Wildlife Protection Act of 1990, and encourages all residents to likewise preserve the health of our world and the beauty of our -1- state' s wildlife heritage forever. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on this 19th day of March 1990.
