HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 6252 RESOLUTION NO. 6252 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH PROVIDING FOR THE DECLARATION OF COUNTY HIGHWAY OVER A CERTAIN PORTION OF HAMILTON AVENUE IN THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH WHEREAS, The Orange County Flood Control District, together with the United States Army Corps of Engineers are improving the Santa Ana River to provide ultimate flood control protection; and The improvement to the Santa Ana River requires lengthening of the Hamilton-Victoria Bridge; and That portion of Hamilton Avenue and Victoria Street from 600 feet west of Brookhurst Street to 800 feet east of Valley Road lying within the city limits of Huntington Beach and of Costa Mesa is deemed to be a highway of county-wide importance; and The Orange County Flood Control District proposes to acquire rights-of-way and County of Orange proposes to improve said portion of Hamilton Avenue and Victoria Street; and The County of Orange is lead agency for the construction of Hamilton-Victoria Bridge over the Santa Ana River and Greenville-Banning Channel, NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does hereby resolve as follows: 1. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 1701 of the Streets and Highways Code, all of that portion of Hamilton Avenue from 600 feet west of Brookhurst Street to the east city boundary lying within city limits of Huntington Beach is, and is hereby declared to be, a County Highway during the period of improvement of said road by the County of Orange. -1- 2 . Pursuant to Section 65402 of the Government Code, the City finds the Hamilton Avenue-Victoria Street project in conformance with the City' s General Plan. 3 . Pursuant to the Orange County Flood Control Act, the City approves the plans and special provisions . PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 4th day of March 1991.
