A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, ADOPTING LAND USE
ELEMENT AMENDMENT NO. 90-9 TO THE GENERAL PLAN
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach
desires to update and refine the General Plan in keeping with
changing community needs and objectives; and
Implement the goals of the Housing Element by providing
opportunities for affordable housing; and
A public hearing on adoption of Land Use Element Amendment
No. 90--9 to the General Plan was held by the Planning Commission on
June 18, 1991, and approved for recommendation to the City Council;
and
Therefore, the City Council, after giving notice as
prescribed by Government Code sections 65355 and 65090, held at
least one public hearing to consider Land Use Element No . 90-9; and
At said hearing before the City Council all persons desiring
to be heard on said amendment were heard,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Huntington Beach pursuant to provisions of Title 7, Chapter
3, Article 6 of California Government Code, commencing with section
65350, that Land Use Element Amendment No . 90--9 is hereby amended as
follows ;
1 . That the area, shown as Site A on Exhibit I attached
hereto, consisting of . 90 net acres located on the
southeast corner of Bushard Street and Garfield Avenue
be redesignated from Low Density Residential to General
Commercial .

2 . That the area, shown as Site B on Exhibit I attached
hereto, consisting of 1. 06 net acres located on the
south side of Garfield Avenue, approximately 145 feet
east of Bushard Street be redesignated from Low Density
Residential to Medium Density Residential .
3 . That the area, shown as Site B on Exhibit I attached
hereto, consisting of 1 . 06 net acres located on the
south side of Garfield Avenue, approximately 145 feet
east of Bushard Street provide affordable housing to
families earning between 80-120% of the Orange County
Medium Income as established by the Department of
Housing and Urban Development.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 15th
day of July 1991 .

I , CONNIE BROCKWAY, the duly elected, qualified City
Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex--officio Clerk of the
City Council of said City, do hereby certify that the whole number of
members of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach is seven;
that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative
vote of at least a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 15th day
