A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH MODIFYING
CERTAIN BENEFITS FOR FISCAL YEAR 1993-1994
NON-REPRESENTED AND ELECTED OFFICIALS
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach desires to modify benefits
for non-represented and elected officials for fiscal year 1993/1994.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach as follows:
SECTION 1. Benefits for Non-Represented employees shall be modified as reflected in
Exhibit "A," effective as indicated.
SECTION 2. Benefits for the City Attorney, City Clerk and City Treasurer shall also be
modified as reflected in Exhibit "A."
SECTION 3. Except as modified, existing benefits shall remain in effect.
SECTION 4. Any resolution in conflict herewith, whether by minute action or
resolution of the City Council heretofore approved, is hereby repealed.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 7th day of February , 1994.

Exhibit A
1. Health and Welfare. Effective January 1, 1994, the maximum payment for medical
premiums shall be $544.
2. Medical Plan Changes. Modify the City Health Plan to provide the following
changes effective January 1, 1994:
a. Elective Outpatient Surgery. Plan to pay one hundred percent(1001/4) of
covered expenses (anesthesia, outpatient surgery, facility use, surgeon and
preadmission) for PPO providers. Plan to pay seventy percent(70%) after the
deductible is met for non-PPO providers.
b. Non-PPO's. Plan will pay ninety percent(90%)for PPO providers and seventy
percent (70%) for non-PPO providers of usual, customary and reasonable charges.
However, in the event of emergency services, the plan will pay ninety percent
(901/%) of usual, customary and reasonable charges for non-PPO providers.
Emergency services is defined as follows: Services which are immediately
required to treat a sudden, serious and unexpected illness or injury, including
services to alleviate severe pain associated with sudden serious and unexpected
illness or injury.
C. PCS Changes. Effective January 1, 1994, reduce mail order drug cost from
$5 to $4 for generic brand(s) and from $S to $6 for "brand" names.
3. Dental Plan. Effective January 1, 1994,the City shall pay dental premiums to a
maximum of ninety-nine dollars ($99)per month.
4. Optical. Effective January 1, 1994,the City shall pay optical premiums to a
maximum of thirteen dollars ($13) per month at a composite rate.
5. PERS Rollover. No unit employee shall be allowed to apply for or continue this
benefit (PERS pick up and vacation accrual)beyond January 31, 1994.
