A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH DECLARING ITS
INTENTION TO REQUEST THE CLOSURE OF
PUBLIC STREETS FOR A SPECIFIC EVENT
WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach has agreed to host the swim event of the
Chief Joseph T. Molloy Memorial Public Safety Triathlon;
This event will involve activities on Pacific Coast Highway between Warner Avenue and
9 Y Warner
Sixth Street; and
It is expected that this event will draw a large crowd which has the potential to create
pedestrian and vehicle conflicts.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach resolves as
follows:
The city wishes to close Pacific Coast Highway between Warner Avenue and Sixth
Street in the interests of public safety, crowd access, and event operation. The City Council
declares by this resolution its intention to request closure of Pacific Coast Highway between
Warner Avenue and Sixth Street from 6:00 A.M. to 11:00 A. M., by the California
Transportation Commission on May 20, 1995.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at a
regular meeting held thereof on the 17th day of ApKij

I, CONNIE BROCKWAY, the duly elected, qualified City Clerk of
the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-officio Clerk of the City Council of said
City, do hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council of
the City of Huntington Beach is seven; that the foregoing resolution was passed
and adopted by the affirmative vote of at least a majority of all the members of said
City Council at a regular meeting thereof held on the 17th of April, 1995 the
following vote:
