HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 6718 RESOLUTION NO. 6718 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH TO AMEND THE CIRCULATION PLAN OF ARTERIAL STREETS AND HIGHWAYS MAP OF THE GENERAL PLAN BY APPROVING THE PRECISE PLAN OF STREET ALIGNMENT NO, 94-1 IN CONJUNCTION WITH HUNTINGTON BEACH GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT NO. 94-3 AND LOCAL COASTAL PROGRAM AMENDMENT NO. 95-1 (RECLASSIFICATION AND WIDTH REDUCTION OF A PORTION OF WALNUT AVENUE) WHEREAS, pursuant to the State Planning and Zoning Law, the California Government Code §65493 et seq., the Planning Commission of the City of Huntington Beach, after notice duly given, held a public hearing to consider the Precise Plan of Street Alignment No. 94-1 in conjunction with General Plan Amendment No. 94-3 and Local Coastal Program Amendment No. 95-1 to reclassify Walnut Avenue between Sixth Street and the alley directly to the east of Main Street from its present designation as a secondary arterial to a local street on the City of Huntington Beach Circulation Plan of Arterial Highways and to reduce the right-of-way width for the portion of Walnut Avenue between Main Street to the alley directly to the east of Main Street from eighty (80) feet to seventy (70) feet. The seventy foot right-of-way width will reflect the existing conditions and will not result in any reduction of street width as presently constructed; and On November 6 , 1995, after notice duly given, a public hearing was held before the City Council, to consider the Precise Plan of Street Alignment No. 94-1 in conjunction with General Plan Amendment No. 94-3 and Local Coastal Program Amendment No. 95-1, and The City Council finds that the Precise Plan of Street Alignment No. 94-1, in conjunction with General Plan Amendment No. 94-3 and Local Coastal Program Amendment No_ 95-1, is reasonable and necessary to the orderly and efficient flow of traffic, for the preservation of the health and safety of the inhabitants of the City, and for the orderly development of the community; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does hereby resolve as follows: SECTION I. That the real property more particularly described in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, is amended to include the Precise Plan of Street Alignment No, 94-1 in conjunction with General Plan Amendment No. 94-3 and Local Coastal Program Amendment No. 95-1 of the City of Huntington Beach_ 4/resolutioWprecise/jmm/10/19/95 1 I i I i A C H M E Nam+ NO. SECTION 2. That the Circulation Plan of Arterial Streets and Highway Map, contained in the Circulation Element of the General Plan, marked as Exhibit B attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference is hereby amended to include Precise Plan of Street Alignment No, 94-1 in conjunction with General Plan Amendment No. 94-3 and Local Coastal Program Amendment No. 95-1. SECTION 3. This resolution shall take effect thirty days after its adoption.
