HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 97-47 RESOLUTION NO. 97-47 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FOR THE COASTAL RESOURCES GRANT PROGRAM UNDER SECTIONS 35030 AND 35031 OF THE PUBLIC RESOURCES CODE FOR THE HUNTINGTON CLIFFS FEASIBILITY STUDY WHEREAS, the California State Legislature has enacted AB 1431 (Chapter 977 of the Statutes of 1996), which is intended to provide grant funds to coastal cities and counties affected by the impact of offshore energy developments for projects to enhance the management of coastal resources; and The Resources Agency has established the application procedures and criteria for reviewing grant proposals from which the grant recipients will be selected; and The procedures and criteria established by the Resources Agency require a resolution certifying the approval of the application before submission to the State; and The City desires to enter into an agreement with the State of California to carry out the coastal resources study, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach approves the filing of an application for Coastal Resources Grant Program for grant assistance, and certifies that it will make adequate provisions for operation and maintenance of the study. IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works shall act as agent of the City of Huntington Beach to conduct all negotiations, and execute and submit all documents which may be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned study.
