RESOLUTION NO. 98-15
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH
ESTABLISHING A SALARY SCHEDULE FOR
NON-PERMANENT AND UNREPRESENTED EMPLOYEES
WHEREAS, the City employs approximately 500 part-time, temporary and seasonal
employees; and
Except for recurrent ocean lifeguards, no recognized employee organization represents
these employees; and
The temporary employees fill positions that a recognized employee organization would
represent if a permanent employee filled the position; and
The seasonal employees fill positions for which there is no equivalent permanent
position; and
The City Council further desires to increase the wages of the seasonal employees for
which there is no equivalent permanent and represented position;
NOW, THEREFORE,the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does resolve as
follows;
Section 1. Effective March 7, 1998,the wages of all non-permanent and
unrepresented employees holding temporary positions that a represented employee would hold if
the equivalent position were permanent are increased two percent(2%) effective March 7, 1998,
and by an additional two percent (2%) effective December 28, 1998.
Section 2. This Resolution has no effect as to recurrent ocean lifeguards, since these
at-will employees are represented by a recognized employee organization.

Section 3. Certain non-permanent and unrepresented employees hold positions for
which there is no equivalent permanent position. These employees shall be compensated at
hourly wages by classification,title and salary range as set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto
and incorporated herein by this reference. Such exhibit reflects a two percent (21/o) salary
increase effective March 7, 1998 and a two percent(2%) salary increase effective December 31,
1998.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 2 n d day of MARCH , 1998.

I, CONNIE BROCKWAY,the duly elected, qualified City Clerk of
the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-officio Clerk of the City Council of said City,

of Huntington Beach is seven; that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted
by the affirmative vote of at least a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 2nd day of March, 1998 by the following
