A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH
TO APPROVE THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF
PORTIONS OF SEAPOINT,PALM AND GOLDENWEST
FOR THE PACIFIC SHORELINE MARATHON
ON JANUARY 31, 1999
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach desires to support
community events and bring tourism to the area during the off-season; and,
The Pacific Shoreline Marathon, an annual off-season event organized by Race
Pace Promotions, wishes to expand the marathon in order to increase participation; and,
The proposed expanded marathon course takes participants onto Seapoint Street,
Palm Avenue and Golden West Street, which requires the closure of these city streets to
accommodate the event and maintain public safety.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Huntington Beach approves the temporary closure of portions of Seapoint Street,
Palm Avenue and Golden West Street on January 31, 1999 to accommodate participants
in the Pacific Shoreline Marathon.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 2nd day of November 1998.

I, CONNIE BROCKWAY, the duly elected, qualified City Clerk of
the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-officio Clerk of the City Council of said City,
do hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council of the City
of Huntington Beach is seven; that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted
by the affirmative vote of at least a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 2nd day of November, 1998 by the
following vote:
AYES: Harman, Green, Dettloff, Bauer, Garofalo
NOES: Sullivan
