HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 99-95 RESOLUTION NO. 99-95 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AUTHORIZING THE SOLICITATION AND ACCEPTANCE OF DONATIONS AND DECLARING THE USE OF PUBLIC FUNDS FOR THE PUBLIC GOOD AND TO FOSTER EMPLOYEE MORALE AND GOOD WILL IN THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH WHEREAS, it is crucial not to overlook the plight of those less fortunate during the fast_ approaching holiday season; and The City Council recognizes the importance of fostering employee morale and good will; and The City Council supports the planning of a raffle and silent auction; to be held at the Huntington Beach City Employee's Holiday Luncheon, for the purpose of aiding those less fortunate and fostering employee morale and good will; and The City Council supports City employee donations of toys to the Toys for Tots program, and food for the Project Self-Sufficiency, and the Youth Shelter, as well as other shelters for the homeless, NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, does hereby resolve as follows: 1. That City employees may solicit and accept donations on behalf of the City of Huntington Beach, made to the City of Huntington Beach, to be raffled/auctioned off at the Holiday Luncheon; and 2. That it is in the public interest and for public good to utilize said donations for the purposes of fostering of employee morale and goodwill, and aiding those less fortunate. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof Feld on the 1st day of November , 1999.
