HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 2000-17 RESOLUTION NO. 2ono-17 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ESTABLISHING A SALARY SCHEDULE FOR NON-PERMANENT AND NON-REPRESENTED EMPLOYEES WHEREAS, the City employs temporary employees to fill positions that a recognized employee organization would represent if a permanent employee filled the position ("temporary employees"); and The City Council desires to increase the wages of such temporary employees in the same manner as permanent employees and grant the same classification and compensation adjustments permanent employees received; and The wages of the permanent employees, the Municipal Employees Association("MEA"), Management Employees' Organization("MEO"), and non-represented employees have been increased by four percent (4%), and three percent (3%) effective December 25, 1999, and December 23, 2000, respectively, pursuant to the Memoranda of Understanding between the City, MEA and MEO; and These temporary employees should also receive the same classification and compensation adjustments received by virtue of the Johnson&Associates study, effective December 25, 1999, and granted to MEA, MEO and non-represented employees. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does hereby resolve as follows: Section 1. Effective December 25, 1999, the wages of all temporary employees are hereby increased four percent (4%), and an additional three percent (3%) effective December 23, 2000, in addition to any applicable adjustment resulting from the Johnson&Associates Classification and Compensation Study. 1 adl/00reso/Nonrep 4% RLS 00-066 0 0 R es. The City Administrator shall implement similar increases for temporary employees holding positions equivalent to permanent positions the Huntington Beach Police Officers Association, Huntington Beach Firefighters Association, and Marine Safety Association represents if and when the permanent employees said Associations represent receive wage increases. Section 3. This Resolution has no effect as to recurrent ocean lifeguards, since these at-will employees are represented by a recognized employee organization.
