A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH
ESTABLISHING A SALARY SCHEDULE FOR
NON-PERMANENT EMPLOYEES
WHEREAS, the City employs part-time, temporary and seasonal employees to fill
positions, none of which are represented by a recognized employee organization("non-
permanent employees"); and
The City Council desires to increase the wages of such non-permanent employees;
and
The wages of the permanent employees, the Municipal Employees Association
("MEA"), Management Employees' Organization("MEO"), and non-represented
employees have been increased by four percent (4%), and three percent (3%) effective
December 25, 1999, and December 23, 2000, respectively, pursuant to the Memoranda of
Understanding between the City, MEA and MEO; and
These non-permanent employees should also receive compensation adjustments
because such non-permanent employees have had only one wage adjustment of four
percent(4%) since 1991.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does
hereby resolve as follows:
Section 1. Effective May 1, 2000, the wages of all non-permanent employee
classes listed on the attached EXHIBIT "A," incorporated herein by this reference, shall
be increased to the salary ranges reflected therein.

Section 2. This Resolution has no effect as to recurrent ocean lifeguards, since
such at-will employees are represented by a recognized employee organization.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at
a regular meeting thereof held on the 15th day of May 2000.

I, CONNIE BROCKWAY, the duly elected, qualified City Clerk of
the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-officio Clerk of the City Council of said
City, do hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach is seven; that the foregoing resolution was
passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of at least a majority of ail the
members of said City Council at a regular meeting thereof held on the 15th
day of May, 2000 by the following vote:
