RESOLUTION NO. 2002-119
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF
PUBLIC WORKS TO APPROVE CONTRACT CHANGE ORDERS
WHEREAS,the City Council presently approves all construction contract change orders for
payment; and
The Council finds that the approval of construction contract change orders may be handled
expeditiously as an administrative function,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach that:

SECTION 1. The Finance Director is hereby authorized to encumber an amount not to
exceed 10 percent of the project contract amount for contract change orders.
SECTION 2. The Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to approve contract
change orders to an accumulated total of 10 percent of the project contract amount.
SECTION 3. The Finance Director is hereby authorized to pay change orders approved by
the Director of Public Works pursuant to Sections 2 and 3 hereof.

SECTION 4. The City Council shall approve any construction contract change order in
excess of an accumulated total of 10 percent of the project contract amount.
SECTION 5. City Council Resolution No. 6056 and all other Resolutions in conflict with
this Resolution are hereby repealed.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 18th day of N vember , 2002.

I, CONNIE BROCKWAY, the duly elected, qualified City Clerk
of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-officio Clerk of the City Council of
said City, do hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City
Council of the City of Huntington Beach is seven; that the foregoing resolution
was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of at least a majority of all the
members of said City Council at an regular meeting thereof held on the
18th day of November, 2002 by the following vote:
AYES: Green, Dettloff, Boardman, Cook, Houchen, Winchell, Bauer
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
