RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH
ESTABLISHING ORDER OF PRIORITY FOR PAYMENTS RECEIVED FOR
VARIOUS CITY SERVICES
WHEREAS, charges for the City's Voluntary FireMed Services Program, residential
curbside refuse collection, sewer service, Capital Facilities Charges, and water service are
combined into one billing statement issued by the City on a monthly basis; and
In order to efficiently process payments received by the City Treasurer, it is necessary
to establish the priority by which payments received by the City are applied toward balances
owed to the City for these municipal services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach as follows:
SECTION 1. Partial payments received by the City shall be applied to outstanding
balances in the following order:
A. Towards all deposits for City services, if any, required by City ordinance
or resolution of the City Council; and
B. Should a portion of the payment remain, it shall be applied towards any
penalties and interest due the City; and
C. If the account is a member of the FireMed Services Program, any
remainder shall be applied toward this program;
D. Should a portion of the payment remain, it shall be applied towards
outstanding residential curbside refuse charges; and
E. Should a portion of the payment remain, it shall be applied towards
outstanding charges for sewer service;
F. Should any portion of the payment remain, it shall be applied towards any
outstanding Capital Facilities Charges;
G. Should a portion of the payment remain, it shall be applied towards water
services charges.

SECTION 2. To the extent this resolution conflicts with prior resolutions adopted by
the City Council, this resolution shall supersede such prior resolutions.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 18th day of March , 2002.

I, CONNIE BROCKWAY, the duly elected, qualified City Clerk of
the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-officio Clerk of the City Council of said
City, do hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach is seven; that the foregoing resolution was
passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of at least a majority of all the
members of said City Council at a regular meeting thereof held on the 18th
day of March, 2002 by the following vote:
AYES: Green, Dettloff, Bauer, Cook, Houchen, Winchell, Boardman
