HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 2003-1 RESOLUTION NO. 2003-1 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH APPROVING THE SUBMITTAL OF SIX IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS TO THE ORANGE COUNTY TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY FOR FUNDING UNDER THE COMBINED TRANSPORTATION FUNDING PROGRAM. WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach desires to implement the transportation improvements listed below; and The City of Huntington Beach has been declared by the Orange County Transportation Authority to meet the eligibility requirements to receive Measure M "turnback" funds; and The City's Circulation Element is consistent with the County of Orange Master Plan of Arterial Highways; and The City of Huntington Beach will provide matching funds for each project as required by the Orange County Combined Transportation Funding Program Procedures Manual; and The Orange County Transportation Authority intends to allocate fluids for transportation improvement projects within the incorporated cities and the County; and The City of Huntington Beach will not use Measure M funds to supplant Developer Fees or other commitments; and The City of Huntington Beach will use Arterial Highway Rehabilitation Funding as a supplement to their existing pavement management program, NOW,THEREFORE,the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does hereby resolve as follows: 1. The City Council hereby requests the Orange County Transportation Authority allocate funds in the amounts specified in the City's application from the Combined Transportation Funding Programs. Said funds shall be matched by funds from the Orange County Transportation Authority as required and shall be used as supplemental funding to aid the City in the improvement of the following streets: o Heil Avenue Widening(Silver Lane to Beach Boulevard); o Pacific Coast Highway CCTV Cameras(PCH at Seapoint Street, Main Street,Huntington Street and Beach Boulevard); o Pacific Coast Highway Transit Center(First Street to Huntington Street); 02reso/octa/12/12/02 1 o Coastal Zone Bus Benches(Multiple Locations); o Arterial Coordination Project: Warner Avenue—PCH to Beach Boulevard, Brookhurst Street—Garfield Avenue to PCH, Goldenwest Street—PCH to McFadden Avenue, Edinger Avenue—Bolsa Chica Street to Beach Boulevard, Garfield Avenue—Edwards Street to Brookhurst Street; o Signal Coordination Project(Adams Avenue and Victoria Street/Hamilton Avenue). PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the bth day of Janua , 2003.
