A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH SUPPORTING THE SUBMISSION OF
A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE BOARD OF CORRECTIONS
FOR A VANDALISM ACCOUNTABILITY PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach desires to undertake a certain project
designated I COUNT to be funded in part from funds made available through the Juvenile
Accountability Block Grant Program administered by the Board of Corrections (hereafter
referred to as the "BOC"),
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach that the Chief of Police of the City of Huntington Beach is authorized on its behalf to
submit a proposal to the BOC and is authorized to sign and approve on behalf of City Council
the Grant Award Agreement between the BOC and the City of Huntington Beach, including any
extensions or amendments thereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the applicant agrees to provide all matching funds
required for said project(including any amendment thereof) under the Program and the funding
terms and conditions of the BOC and that the match will be appropriated as required.
IT IS AGREED that any liability arising out of the performance of this Grant Award
Agreement, including civil court actions for damages, shall he the responsibility of the grant
recipient and the authorizing agency. The State of California and the BOC disclaim
responsibility for any such liability.
BE IT RESOLVED that grant funds received hereunder shall not be used to supplant
expenditures controlled by this body.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 21 s t day of June 2004.

I, JOAN L. FLYNN the duly appointed, qualified City Clerk of the
City of Huntington Beach, and ex-officio Clerk of the City Council of said City,
do hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council of the
City of Huntington Beach is seven; that the foregoing resolution was passed
and adopted by the affirmative vote of at least a majority of all the members of
said City Council at an regular meeting thereof held on the 21st day of June,
2004 by the following vote:
AYES: Sullivan, Coerper, Hardy, Green, Boardman, Cook, Houchen
