A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH REQUESTING THE
ORANGE COUNTY TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY TO
ALLOCATE COMBINED TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM FUNDS
FOR BEACH BOULEVARD WIDENING AT EDINGER AVENUE
WHEREAS, the Orange County Transportation Authority approved a Combined
Transportation Funding Program(CTFP) for FY 2001/02 and FY 2003/04; and
The program includes $35,000 for preliminary engineering in FY 2001/02 and $417,519
for construction in FY 2003/04 for an Intersection Improvement Program-widening project on
Beach Boulevard at Edinger Avenue (south/east corner); and
The City of Huntington Beach has adopted a General Plan Circulation Element which
does not preclude implementation of the Master Plan of Arterial Highways within its jurisdiction,
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach as follows:
1. To request the Orange County Transportation Authority allocate $228,524.76 of
CTFP funds from the Intersection Improvement Program for preliminary engineering and
construction of the widening project on Beach Boulevard at Edinger Avenue (south/east corner)
(Project No. 97-HBCH-IIP-1080), to the City. This request is in conformance with the CTFP
allocation process and does not exceed ninety(90) percent of the programmed amount or ninety
(90) percent of the construction contract.
2. To fund the City's share of the improvement costs of the above indicated fiscal
year and any additional costs over the identified programmed amount.
3. That the City has awarded the engineering consultant contract for the project on
April 21, 2003 for$33,800.
4. That the City has awarded the construction contract for the project on May 17,
2004 for$220,116.41.
5. That the City has 1) designed the project improvements, and 2) completed
required preparatory work in accordance with the standards required by the City and other
affected jurisdictions involved with said project.
6. That the remaining ten (10)percent in CTFP funds will be transferred to the City
when construction is completed and a final report on the project is accepted by the Orange
County Transportation Authority. The City Council agrees to submit the final report to the

Orange County Transpiration Authority within one hundred twenty(120) days after the City's
acceptance of the improvements.

1, JOAN FLYNN, the duly elected, qualified City Clerk of the City
of Huntington Beach, and ex-officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do
hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council of the
City of Huntington Beach is seven; that the foregoing resolution was passed
and adopted by the affirmative vote of at least a majority of all the members of
said City Council at an regular meeting thereof held on the 16th of May,
2005 by the following vote:
