HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 2005-5 RESOLUTION NO. 2005-5 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH DESIGNATING THE CIRCULATION ELEMENT FOR THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach desires to maintain and improve the streets within its jurisdiction, including those arterials contained in the Master Plan of Arterial Highways (MPAH), and The City of Huntington Beach has endorsed a definition of, and a purpose for, determining consistency of the City's Traffic Circulation Plan with the MPAH, and The City has adopted a General Plan Circulation Element which does not preclude implementation of the MPAH within its jurisdiction, and The City Council has adopted a resolution informing the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA)that the City's Circulation Element is in conformity with the Master Plan of Arterial Highways, and setting forth the changes to be made to the arterial highways of said Circulation Element by the City as a result of CTFP projects applied for during Fiscal Years 2005-06 through 2009-10, and The City is required to send annually to the OCTA all recommended changes to the City Circulation Element and the County Master Plan of Arterial Highways for the purpose of requalifying for participation in the Measure M Streets and Road Programs, NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach as follows: a) The arterial highway portion of the City's Circulation Element is in conformance with the County Master Plan of Arterial Highways. b) The City Council affirms that no unilateral reduction in through lanes will be made on any MPAH arterials as a result of CTFP projects applied for during Fiscal Years 2005-06 through 2009-10. c) The City has adopted a uniform setback ordinance providing for the preservation of rights-of-way consistent with the MPAH arterial highway classification. d) The City has adopted provisions for the limitation of access to arterial highways in order to protect the integrity of the system. 04reso/cinulation element-04 Resolution No. 2005-5 PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 19 thday of January 200 5 a REVIEWED AND APPROVED: PROVED AS TO FORM: e ity Ad rtistrator i ty Attorney t of JWz 1 ) , TI D AND AP VED: Director of Public Works 04resolcirculation element-04 Res.
