HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 2005-70 RESOLUTION NO. 2005-70 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH REQUESTING THE ORANGE COUNTY TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY ALLOCATE COMBINED TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM FUNDS FOR BROOKHURST/ADAMS INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT WHEREAS,the Orange County Transportation Authority approved a Combined Transportation Funding Program (CTFP) for FY 2004/05 and FY 2005/06; and The program includes $406,000 for right-of-way in FY 2004/05 and $493,632 for construction in FY 2005/06 for an Intersection Improvement Program widening project on Adams Avenue at Brookhurst Street; and The City of Huntington Beach has adopted a General Plan Circulation Element which does not preclude implementation of the Master Plan of Arterial Highways within its jurisdiction, NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach as follows: 1. To request the Orange County Transportation Authority allocate $245,220.73 of CTFP funds from the Intersection Improvement Program for construction of the widening project on Adams Avenue at Brookhurst Street, Project No. 99-HBCH-IIP-1087 ("Project"),to the City. This request is in conformance with the CTFP allocation process and does not exceed 90% of the programmed amount or 90% of the construction contract at the 63.36% Orange County Transportation Authority reimbursement ratio with a 36.64% City match. 2. To fund the City's share of the improvement costs of the above indicated fiscal year and any additional costs over the identified programmed amount. 3. That a construction contract for $430,030.75 was awarded for the Project on April 18, 2005. 4. That the City has 1)designated the project improvements; and 2) completed required preparatory work in accordance with the standards required by the City and other affected jurisdictions involved with the Project. 5. That the remaining ten percent in CTFP funds will be transferred to the City when construction is completed and a final report on the Project is accepted by the Orange County Transportation Authority.
