A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH REQUESTING CALTRANS
APPROVE THE CLOSING OF PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY
FOR THE HUNTINGTON BEACH PACIFIC SHORELINE MARATHON RUN
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach desires to support
community events and bring tourism to the City; and
The City of Huntington Beach is a participating host to the Pacific Shoreline Marathon
run on February 5, 2006; and
This community event will require the closing of Pacific Coast Highway, which requires
approval of CalTrans,
NOW, THEREFORE,the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does hereby
resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach requests that
CalTrans approve the closure of Pacific Coast Highway between Beach Boulevard and Warner
Avenue on February 5, 2006, to accommodate the participants in the Huntington Beach Pacific
Shoreline Marathon.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 1 9th day of December , 200 5 .

I, JOAN L. FLYNN the duly elected, qualified City Clerk of the
City of Huntington Beach, and ex-officio Clerk of the City Council of said City,
do hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council of the
City of Huntington Beach is seven; that the foregoing resolution was passed
and adopted by the affirmative vote of at least a majority of all the members of
said City Council at an regular meeting thereof held on the 19th day of
December, 2005 by the following vote:
