HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 2008-28 RESOLUTION NO 2008-28 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AMENDING THE CITY'S CLASSIFICATION PLAN BY DELETING THE JOB SPECIFICATION FOR THE POSITION OF ALARM SERVICES COORDINATOR, ESTABLISHING A NEW JOB SPECIFICATION AND SETTING COMPENSATION FOR THE POSITION OF RIDESHARE COORDINATOR, AND REVISING THE JOB SPECIFICATION FOR THE POSITION OF HOUSING AND REAL ESTATE MANAGER AND CHANGING THE JOB TITLE TO HOUSING MANAGER WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach wishes to amend the City's Classification Plan, and The provisions of Personnel Rule 12-4 have been complied with, in that the changes to the City Classification Plan were considered by the Personnel Commission during public hearings on February 20, 2008, and May 21, 2008, and The Commission voted to recommend to the City Council that the City s Classification Plan be amended as follows 1 Delete the job title and Job specification for the classification of Alarm Services Coordinator, 2 Add the classification of Rideshare Coordinator, 3 Modify the classification of Housing and Real Estate Manager and change the job title to Housing Manager NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach that the City Class and Compensation Plan shall be amended as follows 1 Delete the class title and job specification for the classification of Alarm Services Coordinator described in Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated by this reference 2 Add the classification of Rideshare Coordinator to the City's Classification Plan and establish the compensation at Range 506 ($4,713-$5,848) (see Exhibit B, attached hereto and incorporated by this reference) 3 Modify the classification of Housing and Real Estate Manager in the City's Classification Plan and change the job title to Housing Manager as set forth in Exhibit C, attached hereto and incorporated by this coordinates and promotes a variety of alternate transportation programs and services for City employees maintains and analyzes alternative transportation program records prepares reports on compliance with best management practices for alternative transportation programs and performs other duties as required within the scope of the classification DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS The Rideshare Coordinator will have direct contact with City staff and the public and will provide outreach/input related to the development and operation of alternative transportation programs EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES Plans implements and promotes employee trip reduction programs among employees promotes ndesharing and alternate transportation to City employees local employers and organizations efforts prepares a variety of reports and statistics including the City s AQMD annual update develops and implements strategies to increase commuter ridesharing participate in the design of annual
