A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH
APPROVING THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PORTIONS OF GOLDENWEST STREET,
GARFIELD AVENUE, SEAPOINT AVENUE, OVERLOOK DRIVE, MAIN STREET, FIRST
STREET, HUNTINGTON STREET AND TWIN DOLPHIN STREET FOR THE ANNUAL
DISTANCE DERBY RUN
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach desires to support
community events and bring tourism to the City; and
The City of Huntington Beach is a participating host of the Annual Distance Derby Run
on November 6, 2011; and
The event organizers desire to build a world-class running event in the City of
Huntington Beach and to showcase portions of the City; and
This community event will require the closing of City streets to accommodate
participants and guarantee public safety,
NOW, THEREFORE,the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does hereby resolve
as follows-
1. To approve the temporary closure of portions of Goldenwest Street, Garfield
Avenue, Seapoint Avenue, Overlook Drive, Main Street, First Street, Huntington Street and
Twin Dolphin Street, and other streets as deemed necessary for event management and public
safety on Sunday,November 6, 2011.

2. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to approve traffic control
plans to implement the roadway closures and traffic restrictions.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 16th day of May , 201 1

Huntington Beach is seven; that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted
by the affirmative vote of at least a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on May 16, 2011 by the following vote:
AYES: Shaw, Harper, Hansen, Carchio, Bohr, Dwyer, Boardman
