A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH
REQUESTING CALTRANS APPROVE THE CLOSING OF PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY
AND CERTAIN INGRESS AND EGRESS WITHIN THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH
FOR THE ANNUAL DISTANCE DERBY RUN
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach desires to support
community events and bring tourism to the City; and
The City of Huntington Beach is a participating host of the Distance Derby Run on
November 6, 2011; and
This community event will require the closing of Pacific Coast Highway ("PCH") from
Beach Boulevard to Warner Avenue which requires approval of CalTrans,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does hereby
resolve as follows:
1. To request that CalTrans approve the closure of Pacific Coast Highway between
Beach Boulevard and Warner Avenue on November 6, 2011, to accommodate the participants in
the Annual Distance Derby run.
2. The Director of Public Works is authorized to approve the traffic control plans to
implement the roadway closures and traffic restrictions.

Huntington Beach, and ex-officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach is seven; that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted
by the affirmative vote of at least a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on May 16, 2011 by the following vote:
