A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH AUTHORIZING THE CLOSING OF
MAIN STREET AND 5TH STREET TO VEHICULAR TRAFFIC
FOR CERTAIN SPECIAL EVENTS
WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach hosts several special events and related
activities to promote visitation and tourism in the City; and
These special events and related activities occur on Main Street and 51h Street in the
downtown area; and
These special events and related activities draw large crowds which create pedestrian and
vehicle conflicts; and
In order to promote public safety, the City Council has determined that the closure of
Main Street and 5 h Street during the special events listed hereinbelow is necessary for the safety
and protection of persons who might use said streets,
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does hereby
resolve that Main Street and 51h Street shall be closed to all vehicular traffic, including bicycles,
on the dates and for the Special Events listed below. Closures shall be from 6:00 a.m. on the first
day of the Special Event until 10:00 p.m. on the last day of the event:

April 26, 2014 California Cruise In
June 14, 2014 Chili at the Beach
July 31, 2014 Surfing Walk of Fame Induction
September 13, 2014 Surf City Days
October 31, 2014 Halloween Activities
December 7, 2014 Light a Light of Love
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 18th day of_ November , 2013.

I, JOAN L. FLYNN the duly elected, qualified City Clerk of the City of
Huntington Beach, and ex-officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach is seven; that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted
by the affirmative vote of at least a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a Regular meeting thereof held on November 18, 2013 by the following vote:
AYES: Sullivan, Hardy, Harper, Boardman, Carchio, Shaw, Katapodis
NOES: None
