HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 2014-60 Resolution Number 2014-60 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH TO REPEAL RESOLUTIONS 2014-51 THROUGH 2O14-54 TO REMOVE THE BALLOT MEASURE RELATED TO HUNTINGTON BEACH CHARTER SECTION 803 [EXEMPTION FOR REGULATION OF REAL PROPERTY IN MOBILE/MANUFACTURED HOME PARKS] AND REAFFIRM RESOLUTIONS 2014-45 THROUGH 2O14-48 CALLING FOR AND CONSOLIDATING THE ELECTION, SUBMITTED MEASURE RELATED TO SAFE AND SANE FIREWORKS AND SET PRIORITIES WHEREAS, on July 28, 2014, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach enacted four(4) resolutions numbered 2014-51, 52, 53 and 54 that in part, called for and consolidated the election, submitted measures and set priorities for the election that will take place November 4, 2014; and The resolutions contain two (2) ballot measures with associated questions to be submitted to the voters of the City. These measures concern the amendment of City Charter Article VIII to add a Section 805 to permit the sale, possession, display, use and discharge of safe and sane fireworks; and amendment of City Charter Article VIII to amend Section 803 to provide an exemption for regulation of real property in mobile/manufactured home parks, retroactive to July 21, 2014; and Prior to the enactment of the above resolutions, City Council enacted four(4) resolutions number 2014-45, 46, 47 and 48 that added one (1) measure (in addition to associated election requirements) regarding amendment of City Charter Article VIII to add a Section 805 to permit the sale, possession, display, use and discharge of safe and sane fireworks. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does hereby resolve as follows: SECTION 1. Resolutions 2014-51, 52, 53 and 54 are hereby repealed. SECTION 2. Resolutions number 2014-45, 46, 47 and 48 which adds one (1) ballot measure regarding amendment of City Charter Article VIII to add a Section 805 to permit the sale, possession, display, use and discharge of safe and sane fireworks as well as associated election requirements, are reaffirmed. SECTION 3.
