A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ESTABLISHING PERMIT PARKING
DISTRICT "V" WITHIN THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH
WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted Ordinance No. 4051 allowing the
establishment of parking districts in residential areas under certain conditions; and
The citizens of the residential frontage road along the north side of Atlanta Avenue
between Schooner Lane and Bastia Lane have petitioned for establishment of a permit parking
district; and
The Director of Public Works reviewed the petition, sent a ballot for further consideration
to residents of the petitioned roadway, and caused an investigation which reasonably established
that:
1. A minimum of 75% of the Property Units along the frontage road on the north
side of Atlanta Avenue between Schooner Lane and Bastia Lane are in favor of
establishing a Permit Parking District; and
2. Unrestricted parking creates a situation in which the subject street cannot be used
for parking by Residents or their guests because Commuter Vehicle parking
unreasonably and regularly interferes with the use of the available street parking;
and
3. Unrestricted parking creates a situation where Commuter Vehicles or their
occupants produce significant sources of health, safety, or welfare concerns.
Therefore, the Director of Public Works has found the requirements of Ordinance 4051 to
be reasonably fulfilled, and detennined that the Permit Parking District will not affect other uses
of on-street parking.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does hereby
resolve as follows:
Permit Parking District"V" is hereby established along the north side of Atlanta Avenue
between Schooner Lane and Bastia Lane, all day, every day, including holidays.
