CITY wrwr Statement of Issue, Recommendation, Analysis, Funding Source, Alternative Actions: c Statement of Issue: A building is needed to house the storm drain pumping units at the Slater Pump Station. The existing building, carinot accommodate the newly acquired fifth pumping unit nor provide adequate protection for the other four units. Damage to the existing pumping equipment due to the elements has been a continuous maintenance problem. Recommended Action: Approve the plans, specifications and authorize the call for bids to construct the Slater Storm Drain Pump Station Building pending approval of the Coastal Commission. Analysis: On August 20, 1979, the City Council authorized Cash & Jenkin Engineers to design the pure: station building. The plans and specifications have been completed and now that the rainy season is coming to an end the building should be constructed so that all five pumping units are opera- tional and protected from the environment by October of this year. The project is scheduled for public hearing by the Coastal Commission on April 28, 1.980 and should be out to bid soon afterward so that a reason- able construction time can be alloted. A Categorical exemption has been granted by the City's Environment Review Committee. Fun jiag Source : This project is estimated to cost $200,000 and will be financed with Drainage District 9 funds. The current balance in the district is $343,000. / PEC:WAP:lw f .o a .sL ArE,p • :4//F, p4l"p srorrory WARNER ' (0)C4i. i!iL L...:=_a.%'•lr tip._ -- I / •t!__1 rri I (4 poNeR 1 D R R2 • nj , ,... .J i r RI r RII wt lir. /;.a.q.►'et7 RI s% a F LEonp RZ I i t _ » r..,.a---, r R( I Rl ) Rl RI .il Rl y R I R I 1, r, }• Rl IWI—ju r .r....
