RECOMMENDED ACTION: Accept the bid and award the contract to Beylik Drilling, I11c.0 La Habra, California, in the amount of $129,744.00. It Is also recau- mended that the Council adopt Negative Declaration No. 77-120. It ANA.LYS I S : This project is for the drilling of dater Well No. S. located on the east aide of Goldenwest Street in the southwest corner of Murdy Park. Existing water demands and continued new conxtruction have necessitated the drilling of this new well to maintain the capability of supplying all present domestic and fire --fighting demands of the City. The previously reported project estimate of $130,000 was based on a 1000 foot deep well utilizing a sanitary seal set to a depth of 250 feet. The call for bids produced a lone bid of $139,000. In an effort to conform to the original estimate, the bidder, Beylik Drilling, I»o., has agreed to reduce the depth of the sanitary seal from 250 felt to 170 feet, producin4 the amended bid of $129,744.00. This reduction in sanitary seal length has been approved by the California State Department of Health. FUNDING SOURCE: This project exists in Account No. 920916 in the 1977-78 water budget.
