I have more than 20 years experience in communications, including marketing, public relations and community relations. Ten years of that experience is with non-profit employers and organizations such as KOCE-TV (publicist), the Governor's Office of Emergency Services (public information officer), the Orange County Department of Education (writer/editor), UCI's School of Engineering (public relations/newsletter/web site), Cal State L.A.'s Luckman Fine Arts Complex (director of marketing), Ocean View High School's PTSA (program & publicity chair) and Project Self -Sufficiency (board member & publicity chair). Please note my following achievements: • Wrote and hosted the Flood Preparedness video for the Laguna Beach Fire Department (on behalf of the Governor's Office of Emergency Services) • Designed and edited the award -winning "Free From Drugs" booklet distributed by the Orange County Department of Education to all of its grade schools • Project managed, wrote and provided photography for UCI School of Engineering's web site and newsletter • Brought in more than $100,000 of in -kind services in one year for the Luckman Fine Arts Complex • Provided public relations and wrote the entry for KOCE-TV's win of the national Award for Promotion of Fund Raising Event, Corporation for Public Broadcasting, 1979 • Received the Certificate of Excellence for Best Feature Story (Slim Cuisine), Orange County Ad Federation, 1980 My experience includes developing and designing press releases/kits; audio and video PSAs; documentation videos; newsletters, brochures and other collateral materials; providing and overseeing photography; creating and making speeches and creating web sites. I have been a resident of Huntington Beach for more than 12 years. In the past few years I have had the wonderful opportunity to work closely with many of the city's council members and other administrators through my work with the Hilton Waterfront. I was part of city and county brainstorming sessions regarding pollution solutions, I was a member of the public relations committee for the Huntington Beach Conference and Visitor's Bureau, and I provided publicity for the Huntington Beach Restaurant Association's two Restaurant Olympics and its Taste of Huntington Beach. I have very positive relations with the local media as verified by the large volumes of clippings I receive on behalf of my employers and volunteer organizations. I would enjoy working for the City of Huntington Beach and am happy to extend my non-profit rate of $50 per hour, barring additional monies the city requires for insurance, which will increase my rate accordingly. I look forward to your reply.
