THIS AGREEMENT, entered into by and between CITY OF
HUNTING'A'DN BEACH, a municipal corporation, hereinafter called
LESSEE, and KEN HA.WKES, Deer Flat Road, Kuna, Idaho, herein-
after called LESSOR,
W I T N E S S E T H
WHEREAS, LESSOR is the owner ._f, a certain parcel of
property, to wit: twenty-five feet of frontage on the northw(:?st
side of Seven".-eenth ,. ';reet, seventy-five feet southwest of Orange
t ;
Avenue in the City of Hunt on Beach, and T:,ESSEE desires to
lease said property for the purpose of yard storage for, the De-
partment of Recreation and Parks,
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the above, LESSOR
and LESSEE ,ao hereby agree as follows :
1. LESSOR leases the aforementioned property to LESSEE
' - for,; toe purpose of yard 'storage to be used by the Department of
Recreation and Parks for the City of Huntington Beach.
2. � i-se terms shall commence at the time this agree-
t; ment is signed D�! the city and shall terminate Dece7iber 31, 1974 ..
3. LESSEE shall ? e responsible for and pay the prop-
erty taxes now due and those to be assessed on the abovementioned
property during_ the _lease te'rm.. Such payment shall constitute

4. LESSEE may terminate this lease upon thirty (30)
days ' written notice to LESSOR.

Obligation to Pay Taxes ^eptember 6y 1972
In reviewing the legal documents pertaining to this :natter,
the City is obligated to pay the taxes pertaining to Lot 23 ,
25 and 27 on Block 317 .
As to Lot 21 Block 317 , we have already paid taxes . On the
tax records, these taxes are applicable to Parcel No. 023-156-08 .
Mr. Hawke3 claims that we still owe taxes for the la: t two years
on Parcel No. 023-156--09 Apparently, Lots 25 -nd 27 are covered
by this parcel number. I am checking this out If they are
covered by said parcel number, it will be our —ligation to pay
:he applicable taxes

determination of this matter is made,` I shall communicate same
to you.

Obligation to pay Takes September Er; 1972
In reviewing the legal documents pertainin, 'o this wafter,
the City is obligated to pay the taxes pertaining to Lot 23,
25 and 27 on Block 317.
As to Lot 21, Block 317, we have already paid taxes . On the
tax records , these taxes are applicable to Parcel No. 023--156-08.
Mr. Hawkes claims that we still owe taxes for the last two :'ears
on Parcel No. 023-156 -09 . Apparently, Lots 25 and R7 are cc. Bred
by this parcel number. I rim checking this out , If they are
covered by said parcel number, it will be our obligation to pay
the applicable taxes .
Please contact me if there are any questions . When the final
determination of this matter is made, I shall communicate same
to you.

Authorization is requested for the Mayor and City Clerk
to execute a lease agreement between the City of Huntington
Beach and Mr. Ken Hawkes , for a 25 ft . lot located at
the northwest side of Seventeenth Street , seventy-five
-Feet southwest of Orange , for use by the city as a storage
yard for the Recreation and Parks Department .
The term of the lease is through the period ending
December 31 , 1974 and payment by the city of property
taxes assessed on the property during the term of the
lease will constitute the complete rental for the
property.
