DIFFERING SITE CONDITIONS (1) Notire The contractor shall promptly, and before such conditions are disturbed, natify the DPW, in writing of: (a) subsurface or latent physical conditions at the site differing materially from those indicated in this agreement; or (b) unknown physical conditions at the site, of an unu*.bal nature, differing materially from those ordinarily en- countered and generally recognized as inherent in work of the character provided for in this agreement. I If CUNTRACT014 has, in the judgment of the DPW, faithfully ; executed fifty percent (50%) or more of the value of the work as determined from this: bid schedule, and if the DPW finds that satis- factory progress has been. and is being made, the CONTRACTOR may be paid such sum as will bring the payments of each month up to one hundred percent (100%) of the value. of the work completed since the commencement of the work, as determined by DPW, less all previous and less all �., payments previ.caus retained amounts. P.ECOMME ODATION : Approve the plans and. specifications and authorize the Director of Public Works to solicit bids. ANALYSIS A field inspection of the existing on -site concrete slabs and driveways at the Joint }powers Training Center, the Heil Avenue Station, the Murdy Station and the Dushard Station accentuates the necessity of repairing and replacing those.existing improvements. The constant use ane subsidence of these improvements has resulted in extensive deterioration. These facilities must be repaired and replaced so that prevailing standards of safety and general appearance can he maintained. to addition, the northwest portion of the parking lot at the Joint Powers Training Center should be enlarged to meet the ongoing demands for.additional parking space.. Plans and specifications for these improvements, estimated to cost $125,000, have been completed by staff and are ready for bid.
