The Planning Commission at its meeting of April 20, 1976, made a finding of conformance with the General; Plan on the proposed downtown property's acquisition.. The property identified in the attached Agreement is des- ignated as specialty commercial on the Land Use Element of the Master Plan and therefore has been determined by the Planning Commission that acquisition for a public parking lot would be in conformance with the permitted uses of this designation. We have recentlyconcluded the sale o� the Occ-anview Fire Station property p P located on Beach Boulevard south of Warner Avenue and the proceeds have been deposited in Account H221-Civic Improvement Account An Addendum to the Agreement for Sale of Real Proparty has been attached which provides for the grantor to assign to the Redevelopment Agency his exis log lease with Golden Coast Laboratories and Huntingto-, Beach Lab- oratories for parking lot purposes. Safe y Code Section a_'600 provides that a Redevelop- meat Agency may accept financial assistance from any public or r: private source to purchase real property. Health and Safety Code 33601 provides that the'agenev may borrow r money from any public agency and may comply with the conditions of the loan. This Means it may pay interest on the :arms borrowed. Health and Safety Code 33620 provides that the City Council may establish a Redevelopment Revolv,.ng Fund to be kept in the t:zreas_ ury of the community.
