WHEREAS, the dity of Huntington Beach, by and through '
its City Council, and the City Attorney of Huntington Beach are
dest.rous of establishing txe amount of corpensation to be paid
•
to the 01ty* Attorney in return for his services rendered and ex-
penses incurred under the provisions of the.Charter %nd Ordinanc-
es of the City of Huntington Beach; and
WHEREAS, the parties are desirous of sotting out the
nature of the services, rights and obligations of the parties
t hereto, ;they do agree as follows:
1. The City Attorney will: furnish the necessary time to
cagy out his obligations to the City under its charter and to
provide the ity with proper legal representation and.will attend
ail meetings of the City Council at which his attendance is re-
q,uired or requested. The City Attorney further agrees that he will
be available for the needs of the City and its Department Heads
at the City Hall at such times es shall be agreed to between the
City Attorney and the City Administrator.
2. It is understood that the City will continue to .proms
vide a full time legalsecretaryfar City business, which posit-
ion is now held by Alice M. Hamil,ton, and a full time Assistant
City Attorney, whieh position is new held by George Shibeta, and
the necessary office space and equipment and suppji.es necessary
to conduct the business of the ofa ice.
3, It is mutually agreed that the City Attorney shall
receive compensation of $15,600.00 per year on a monthly basil #`

transport ottza.ir office help and maintenance, telephone bill,
oleaning charges and other related expenses wh1oh may occur in

4. It is Agreed, however, that the amount of compensa-

connection with formation or lii ,rations involving special assess-
merut districts or appeals of ony actions past the Superior Court,

and it is contemplated by the parties than such.services would

be rendered under mutually agreed terms or contracted to some
outside legal firm.
This Agreement shall cover the one (1) year period
from the date that the 'City Attorney was sworn into office, on

April 19, 1966, and he shall receives .compensation at the agreed
ra.•e. effective from that date.
