'•i',�t�'rr 't' I ri V ••', t On October 24, 1988 the City Council approved Resolution Number 5940 which authorized the acquisition of property on Commodore Circle commonly known as Recreation Lot A. The purpose of the acquisition was to provide an opera space recreation area for the general public, as well as, residents of Commodore Circle. The Department of Economic Development had met with residents and owners of the area to develop ra conceptual plan for the recreation area. Following the concept stage of plan development, the Public Works Department coordinated the ccmpletion of final plans and specifications for the project. The plans presented for City Council approval represent extensive contact with the potential users of the recreation area and reflect the highest and best use by all age groups within the neighborhood, e.g. sand tot lot, basketball half court, and landscape passive areas. FUNDING SOURCE: Federal Community Development Block Grant Funds appropriated to the Commodore Circle Project Account Number 894850, estimated project cost - $40,000.00.
