NOTICE INVITING SEALED BIDS
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND RECONSTRUCTION OF A BOAT �f j
LANDING RAMP ON THE MNICIML PIERS IN THE, CITY OF
PUNTINCTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA.
Nntice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach,
California, will receive sealzd bids for the construction and reconstruction of a
boat Landing ramp on the Mu-nicipal Pier in the City of Huntington Ceach, California
in accordance with tie plans and specifications and special provisions now on file
in the of f � :.e of the City rL(ir'r. and Director of Public Works of said City. Each
bid to be submitted in strict accordance t, th the specifications therefore. Plans
and specifications will b.• available in the office of the Director of Public Works
on or after Friday, March 18 , 1969. A charg�2 of $5.00, not refundable wil.1
be required for each set of specifications and accompanying drawings.

OVORTIME RATES
CARPENTERS - Double time fur all overtime.
CEMENT MASONS - Time and one half for the first three hours a.'ter the regularly
constituted straight time shift, and all other overtime shall be double time.
OPERATING ENGINEERS - First three hours outside the regularly constiuted shift
shall be at the rate of time and on.e half. All additional hours shall be at
double time. On Saturday work, the first eleven hours shall be at time and one
half and all additional hours at double time. Sundays shall be at double time.
IRON..:WORKERS - Double time shall be paid for any and a,l work in excess of eight
hours on any regular work day and for all time worked on Saturdays, Sundays and
recognized holidays.
LABORERS - Time and one half, except Sundays and holidays, which are double time.
TEAMSTERS - Time and one half, except Sundays and holidays, which are double time.
"The rate of compensation for any classification not listed in the schedule,
but which may be required to enecute the proposed contract, shall he commensursta
and in accord with the rates specified for similar or comparable duties in the
Southern California Master Labor Agreements."
The rates per hour, indiczted above are baseri upon the :.oral prevai lino rntQs
per day being eight times the above schaditled rate per hub:'. No=s;-iv rates of rp;•
are based upon eight hours per day for a full day or a fractional part of a day.
The perddiem wages of a fractione.l part of a day shall be the applicable rate
per hour multiplied by the number: of hours worked un said day other than for
overtime and/or Sundays or legal holidays.
All wort: performed in excess of eight hours per day or forty hours per
week shall be paid for at the prevailing overtime rate, and .-Il wort: performed on
holidays and Sundays, shall be paid for at the prevailing overtime rate, for eadh
craft involved.
Plans and specifications together with proposal form amy be obtained at the
office of the Director of Public Works, City Hall, Huntington Beach,, California.
No bid will be received unless it is made on a blank form furnished by the
Director of Public Works. The special attention of prospective bidders is called
to the proposal requirements, seq. forth in the specifivatio:.=, for full directions
as to the bidding.
The foregoing quantities are approximate only, being given as d basis .for
the comparison of bids, and the City of Huntington Beach does not, express or by
implication agree that the actual amount of work will correspond therewith but
reserves the right to increase or decrease the amount or any {class of portion of
the work; as may be deemed necessary oIr erpedf.ent by the Director of Public Works.

A1.1 bids will be compared on the basis of the Director of Public Works
estimate of the quantities of work to be done.
No bid will be accepted from a contractor who is not licensed in accordance
with the law, under the provisions of Chapter 7919 Statutes of 1929, as amended
or Chapter 37, Statutes of 1939, as amended, or to whom a proposal from has
not been issued by the City of Huntington Beach.
Each bi_d shall be made out on a form to be obtained at the office of the
Director of Public Works, City Hall, Huntington Beach, California; shall be
sealed and filed with the City Clerk at 520 PeoWn Street, of said City on or
Wn,re 0:00 A.M.- =,f A prii 7, 1969, and shall be opened by a committee composed
of the City Clerk, tLe City Attorney and Director of Public Works in the Admini-
strative COTIference Room at 9:00 A.M., or ae soon thereafter as possible, and
results of said bidding will be reported to the City Council of said City of
Huntington Beach at tl._ir regualr meeting to be held on Monday, the 7" day
of April, 1969 at the hour of 430 P,M. in the Council Chambdrs in the City Hall
of Anid City of Huntington Beach and shall be acted lupon by said City Council
at their sa.;d regular muetiug o� April 7, 1969.
