COOK, DIRE.TOR OF PUBLIC WORKS Subject: THE RECONSTPUCTI& AND MODIFICATION OF THE AT' LANTA AVENUE SANITARY SEWER LIFT STATION - M.-I.C. 182 Statement of Issue, Recommondation, Analysis, Funding Source, Alternative Actions, Att.ochmonts: SATEMiEhT OF ISSUE: Plans and Specifications and Notice Inviting Sealed Bids have been prepared for the reconstruction acid modification of the Atlanta Avenue Sewer Lift Station. ECOMMENDATION: Approve the Plans and Specifications and authorize the City Clerk to advertizz for bids. ANALYSIS: The pumps in the Atlanta Station are deteriorated cue to age and there are major leaks in the lines flowing into the station, which cause the station the expense of having to pump ground water. This proposed upgrading ;`il rectify the leaks from the broken main lines and upgrade the ?amps to a capacity which will handle future flows antici- pated in the area. These improvements will also effect the conversion of this station frLxn a conventional wet well/dry well station into a submersible pump station, and this is expected to reduce the time necessary to maintain the station. FUNDING SOURCE: Sewer funds, which have previously been approved as a sewer project in the Capital Improvement Programs, will be used for this work which is estimated to cost $75,000. .,' 3 M4 V!1 x • Qu \ia ` AVL ARausY I .
