instrument their agreements with respect to tho
improvement of grade crossing and protectiva devices
at the crossing of Warner Avenue, over the: 1"racks

1. Railroad shall furnish, all necessary labor, sacterrials,

{ tools and equipment to install and shall install two (2) flashing C
light grade crossing signals, equipped with automatic gate arms,
together with artuatAng and operating circuit° and adequate inotru
mient housing,, hereinafter collectively referred to a,s ""signals"e,
at said c-rossing. Said signals 04411 be located as indicated can
the print of Railroad's Lose Angeles Division Drawing D35170 Sheet
No. 1, dated July 24, 2967, attached arid made a part hereof,,
Installation of and all materials t&r said signals shalll, be in
accordAnce with Railroad's usual standards
Sueh installation shall include removal of existing pvatesc--
t we d4vi,ces.
City agrees to reimburse Railroad for Fifty per Cezt (50%)
of ,all cost and a xpelse incurred by Railroad in connection with
the furnishing nud instrallation of said aignfals and the removal
of existing sign l protection.

agreemezt to modify three existing agreements between the City and Southern.
Pacific Cowpany, now succeeded by merger with oe Southern Pacific Trans-
portation Company.
The agreements, -which are now in effect, cover the construction and cost
responsibili{fAes for the widening and imptrwing of the railroad crossings on
Edinger Avenue;, O.-053 Watner Avenuo, CC-065, and Nell Avenue, CC-123 The
three are saabmi�ted togethor, for your consideration, due to the mature, of
the 4yAod,lffcotion4 being idesnt:ical* Each l+et~tet proposes to allows the cros.tings
to remain asphalt concrete pavement between the rails in 1 ,ou of the previously
agreed upon timber planks,

letter agreements tc, modify three existing agr ,ements between the [.Lty
and southern Pacific +Cftpany, now merged with southern Transportation
Company, to coven the construction and cost responsibilities for the
widening and improvement of the railroad crossings on Edinger Avenue,
CQ-053a 'Varner Avetnuer CC- 06$; and Heil Avenue, CC-123 ; and to authorize
the Mayor and City Clerk to execute same an behalf of the City, The
