Subject: Police Heliport; CC--598 �
Gentlemen:
The City of Huntington Beach is requesting proposals from
qualified architectural firms for the preparation of conceptual
and construction plans for the development of the City's proposed r ;
police heliport. The City's ex-sting facility has become unnsuable
due to ma3ur soil settlement requiring the City to lease facilities
at the Orange County Airport. This lease will expire within one
year and t.,e City could like to construct a new facility as soon
as possible.
The scope of woxk for, which proposals are being solicited in-

eludes the following tasks:
1. Preparation of schematic plans and cost estimates
for a police heliport a d .related facilities in-
clud .ng but not limited to:
(a) maintenance/office building (approximately 701
wide by 100' long.) The City currently operates
6 helicopters. The maintenance bayof the pro-
posed building needs to have room for 4 helicopters
with. a minimum 35 foot blade diameter.
(b) Landing pad including all appurtenances.
(c) Ramp area for parking, etc.
