surance policy in which CITY is named as an additional insured.
The policy shall insure CITY, its officers and employees while
acting within the scope of their duties for the acts or amis-
sions of CONSULTANT in connection with PROJECT. The Volicy shall
provide for not less Than the :'allowing amouits: Combined single
limit, bodily injjiry and/Q.4r property damage of $300, 000 per
occur.ence. Such policy of insurance sl.all specifically provide
that any other insurance carried by CITY which may be appi3cable
shall he deemed excess and CONSULTANT'S policy to the contrary.
SECTION 7. INDEPENDFNT CONTRACTOR:
It is further understood and agreed that CONSeLTANT
is, and shall be, acting at all times as an independent contractor
herein ctnd not as an employee of CITY. CONSULTANT shall secure
at its expense, and be responsible for any and all payment of
incm,e tav, Locial security, state disability in�5nrance compensation,
unemployment cmpensation ar.d other payroll deductionz for CONSULTANT,
and its officers, agents and emplayees and all business licenses,
if any, in connectirm with the seivicos to be performed her(-un-,'Ier.

SERVICES TO BE PERFORMED BY ENGINEER
Provide a brief letter type report evaluating facility.
This report would assess life -cycle costs for alter-
nates utilizing fewer pumps and different engine
drive - electrical motor drive arrangements.
Prepare preliminary plans, specifications and estimate
for Reservoir Hill Pumping Station including pumping
plant, Building, street and drainage improvements,
site improvements, pressure regulator station and
ancilliary equipment and appurtenances sufficient in
detail to allow for possible City purchase of long
delivery items to the Contractor. Geotechnical and
Electrical Engineering services will be provided by
sub -consultants.
Prepare sketches, exhibits and ancilliary background
information for City use in presentation of the pro-
ject for Planning Commission approval.
Finalize plans, specifications and estimate for
Reservoir Hill Pumping station.
Provide background data and calculations as required
to process plans through the Building Department for
approval.
Provide professional consultation as requested by the
City for interpretation of plans and specifica-ions,
and shop drawing review during the construction of
the project.

Statement of Issue:
Proposals were submitted to the City on May 19, 1980 to provide engineering
services for the Reservoir Hill booster station.

Reconumeadation:
Accept t9e pro..4sai from Alderman, Swift and Lewis, Consulting Engineers, for
a fee not to exceed $26,600.00 and authorize the Mayor to execute the
attached proXessional services agreement.
Analysis:
Proposes were rec--eived by e;,Agineering firms to prepare the design, construc-
tion plans rind specifications for a new Reservoir Hill booster station. The
new facility will be on the northwest corner q-,f Clay and G,,)ldenwest. This
site will b,a provided to the City in exchange fcr relinquishing the lands
presently liaased. Li-ted below are the firms that submitted proposals and
respectivee Aot-to-exceed fees.-
